Biography
Eduardo di Capua studied with his father, the violinist Giacobbe di Capua, and travelled the touring circuits with him. In 1898, to words by Giovanni Capurro, he set 'O sole mio during a tour of Russia. Maria, Marì and I' te vurria vasà belong to the same catalogue. Success on that scale never brought him security. He died in Naples in 1917. He spent a short time at the San Pietro a Majella conservatory, played piano and mandolin and directed small ensembles of his own. Vincenzo Russo wrote the words for Maria, Marì and I' te vurria vasà.
