Soprano
Biography
Trained in Vienna — first at the University of Music and Performing Arts with Helga Wagner, then at the Conservatory of the City of Vienna — Heidi Manser came to singing from Carinthia. Her stage work divides between opera and operetta, and she sings the soprano solo in Orff's Carmina Burana. Born in Wolfsberg, she studied privately with Edith Lienbacher, Colleen Holmes, Gottfried Hornik and Walter Berry, and took master classes with Gundula Janowitz, Berry and Ernst Haefliger. Her roles include Konstanze and Blondchen, Susanna and Cherubino, the Queen of the Night, Despina, Olympia, Ännchen and Adele, and she was a prizewinner at the international Nico Dostal Competition in 2000. Concert and song singing takes up a further part of her work in Austria and abroad. Hilda de Groote was among her teachers at the Vienna Conservatory, and Serpina has joined her roles. She has worked with Neue Oper Wien, sang the Carmina Burana solo with the Plovdiv Philharmonic, and appears with Concilium Musicum Wien in programmes of music from the Habsburg court.
