Baritone
Biography
Born in Asenovgrad in 1973, Ivan Kabamitov took his diploma at the Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music in Sofia in 1997 and continued in Italy — at the Bulgarian academy of art and culture in Rome, and at the Chigiana in Siena with Renato Bruson, where he was awarded a diploma di merito in 2005. Prizes at the Boris Christoff competition in Sofia and at Puldin in Plovdiv came in 2000 and 2002 respectively. With the pianist Blagovesta Konstantinova he has built a partnership running to several hundred songs, Bulgarian repertoire set beside the German and French art song, a good deal of it recorded for Bulgarian National Radio. His first stage role was Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte at the opera in Varna in 1996, and he joined the Stara Zagora company as a soloist in 2012. Malatesta, Giorgio Germont, Rodrigo, Scarpia, Figaro and Iago are among the parts he sings.
