Pop singer
Biography
Jivko Stanev has sung in crossover programmes in which a symphony orchestra takes on film and popular music. He sang in several editions of James Bond Live in Concert with the Sofia Philharmonic in 2018 and 2019, in Sofia and in Plovdiv, in programmes drawn from the scores of Monty Norman, John Barry and their successors, and returned in December 2025 for Christmas concerts devoted to music from children's cinema. Born in Sofia on 6 October 1992, a grandson of two folk singers, he began with the piano at seven, sang through his school years in the groups Deca na Sveta and Haverim, and from the age of twelve, when he voiced the young Simba in the Bulgarian Lion King, dubbed children's films and series for years. He studied pop and jazz singing in Sofia with Rumyana Kotseva and Rumyana Georgieva, continued at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London, and was a finalist in the fourth season of X Factor Bulgaria in 2015. Ruth Koleva, beside whom he sang in the Boogie Jungle Fever concerts from 2017, brought him into the Bond programmes.
