Laura Alonso Padín

At twenty-one Laura Alonso Padín joined the ensemble of the Aalto Theatre in Essen, where she sang Mimì, Gilda, Susanna, Zdenka, Pamina and Blanche de la Force. She was born in Vilagarcía de Arousa in Galicia and trained in violin as well as in singing, continuing at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe with Aldo Baldin, Anna Reynolds, Jean Cox and Hartmut Höll on an Alexander von Humboldt scholarship. Her career since has run through Europe, the Americas and Asia in repertoire from Mozart and bel canto to Verdi and Puccini; she appeared in Les pêcheurs de perles in Santiago de Compostela in February 2015.
