Soprano
Biography
Redoglia read literature at university before taking her singing diploma at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan, the city of her birth, and won prizes at the Mattia Battistini, Pavia Lirica and Voltolini competitions before a professional debut in Cavalleria rusticana and Pagliacci in Lima. Her repertoire has settled on the big Verdi and Puccini soprano parts — Aida, Il trovatore, La traviata, Un ballo in maschera, La bohème, Madama Butterfly — beside sacred, chamber and twentieth-century music, and in the mid-2000s she sang Nabucco and Aida in the German open-air seasons. She teaches as well as sings. The Teatro Massimo in Palermo, La Fenice in Venice and the Carlo Felice in Genoa are among the houses she has appeared in, and Abigaille and Tosca belong to the Verdi and Puccini parts she sings. Her recordings include Gabriel Dupont's La Cabrera and Mascagni's In filanda.
