Ruth Koleva

Soul, jazz and the contemporary popular idiom are Ruth Koleva's territory. She writes her own material, produces, and has a presence in Bulgarian cultural life well beyond her own singing. Since 2018 she has appeared with the Sofia Philharmonic in its crossover programmes. Her earliest work abroad took her to Thailand and to New York, where she recorded a demo with Martin Briley, and in 2007 she studied at the Hollywood Pop Academy in Los Angeles. Among her later appearances are concerts shared with Bobby McFerrin and an evening with the Sofia Philharmonic at Bulgaria Hall.
