Vesselin Hristov

Vesselin Hristov's voice carries the solo line on the first Music Minus One volume of Puccini arias for tenor, recorded in June 1999 with the Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra — a series in which the orchestral accompaniment is published for singers to practise against. Hristov was born in Dobrich in 1965 and graduated in 1991 from the Pancho Vladigerov State Academy of Music in the class of Chavdar Hadjiev. That same year he made his debut at the Sofia National Opera as Tamino and sang Tom Rakewell in The Rake's Progress at the festival in Salerno. He was a soloist of the Plovdiv State Opera and of the Stefan Makedonski Musical Theatre in Sofia before joining the Landestheater in Salzburg. His parts include the Duke of Mantua, Alfredo, Manrico, Cavaradossi, Rodolfo and Antonio in Prokofiev's The Duenna, beside the requiems of Mozart and Bruckner.
