Main Themes (Suite, arr. Calvin Custer)

Calvin Custer, an American arranger who worked extensively for orchestras playing popular programmes, assembled a concert medley of the principal James Bond themes. The material spans several composers: Monty Norman's 1962 signature theme for Dr. No, John Barry's title songs from Goldfinger onwards, and later contributions by other hands. Custer laid the suite out so that the themes follow one another without pause. The music has outlived the films it was written for — a Bond medley is now a standard item, played by ensembles that will never accompany a film.
