Cieza's Museo de Siyâsa brings the remains of a medieval settlement into the modern town. Opened in 1999, the museum includes full-scale reconstructions of houses 6 and 10 from the Andalusi settlement of Siyâsa, allowing their domestic spaces and decoration to be understood as rooms rather than isolated fragments. Its collections extend further back through prehistoric and Roman material and forward into local ethnography. An olive mill associated with the Mateos family introduces another aspect of working life. The museum links Cieza's surrounding archaeological landscape with the buildings, tools and household arrangements through which earlier inhabitants organised their days.
