Owned and run by the Azkoitia town council, Baztartxo seats 538 in the stalls and 62 in the amphitheatre and works as the town's cinema as much as its stage, with a digital projector and Dolby processor in the box. Its own programming is theatre for children and adults, roughly nine tenths of it in Basque, and the house belongs to Sarea, the Basque network of public theatres. Three people run the building: one technician, two on cleaning and the box office. Touring opera arrives from outside that regular line.
