The concert hall of the Kolarac Endowment in Belgrade, built from the bequest of Ilija Milosavljevic Kolarac, was designed by Petar Bajalovic and opened with a Belgrade Philharmonic concert on 4 February 1932. Stevan Hristic conducted, with the soprano Ksenija Rogowska as soloist. The programme included music by Rimsky-Korsakov, Hristic, Milojevic-Baranovic and Novak. Conceived with particular attention to acoustics, the hall has become a regular setting for orchestral concerts, chamber music and recitals, and the Belgrade Philharmonic plays its season there. Its visiting artists have included Prokofiev, Britten, Penderecki, Arthur Rubinstein, Sviatoslav Richter and Martha Argerich.
