Opera keeps its own establishment within the Republic Square house — orchestra, chorus and principals — alongside the drama and ballet companies with which it shares a stage and a calendar. Italian repertoire lies at the centre of the company's working stock: Verdi's La traviata and the double bill of Cavalleria rusticana and Pagliacci are among the titles it maintains, and takes on guest visits abroad as well as playing at home in Belgrade.
