Brookville is a village on Long Island's north shore, in Nassau County, whose concert life is centred on the campus performing-arts complex that serves the surrounding communities. Opera on tour has been part of its programme: Verdi's La traviata has been staged in this hall, before an audience drawn from the neighbouring towns rather than from New York City an hour to the west.
