The Palais de la Musique et des Congrès in Strasbourg combines performance auditoriums with conference and exhibition facilities near the European institutions. A comprehensive renovation was completed in 2016. The complex covers approximately 50,000 square metres and contains three auditoriums with capacities of about 1,800, 1,200 and 500. Twenty meeting rooms provide smaller spaces, while a column-free exhibition hall covers 3,000 square metres. The Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg gives symphonic concerts in the Salle Érasme, with introductory talks in the Salle Marie Jaëll. Located on Place de Bordeaux, the Palais accommodates concerts and other staged presentations as well as large congresses, using different configurations for its cultural and professional programmes. Strasbourg's Palais de la Musique et des Congrès is the home of the Orchestre philharmonique de Strasbourg, whose subscription concerts are given in its Salle Érasme. The building stands in the Wacken quarter, close to the European institutions, and covers some fifty thousand square metres; it was entirely rebuilt inside in 2016, a renovation aimed as much at the acoustics and the audience's route through the foyers as at the congress halls. In 2022 a new exhibition centre by Kengo Kuma opened alongside it.
