The hall at ulica Chopina 30 was finished in January 1974 for an orchestra that had been playing in Rzeszów since its first concert in April 1955. It seats 684, with a 185-seat chamber hall beside it and a stage of over 250 square metres, and counts among the larger concert rooms in south-eastern Poland. The building belongs to the Filharmonia Podkarpacka, a cultural institution of the Podkarpackie voivodeship co-financed since 2017 by the ministry of culture and named after the composer Artur Malawski. Symphonic subscription series carry the season, with guest orchestras and festival weeks between them.
