The Rheintal-Kongress-Zentrum is a conference and cultural venue on Bingen’s Rhine waterfront, within the Kulturufer area. Its three halls can be combined to accommodate approximately eight hundred people. The centre is equipped for concerts as well as congresses, with a concert grand piano and backstage facilities. Its riverside position offers views towards the Mäuseturm, Ehrenfels Castle and the surrounding vineyards. An adjoining hotel provides additional meeting rooms, complementing the congress centre’s own spaces. The complex therefore combines facilities for business gatherings with infrastructure for public cultural events. Bingen sits where the Nahe joins the Rhine and the river turns into its gorge — the Upper Middle Rhine Valley, inscribed by UNESCO, which takes in the whole town. The congress centre belongs to the Kulturufer, the stretch of riverbank laid out for public use at the Rhein-Nahe-Eck, and gives Bingen a large modern room for conferences and concerts. It is a workaday building in a town that remembers Hildegard, abbess, healer and composer, who died here in 1179.
