Щадтхале Битбург

Bitburg had argued about a municipal hall since the 1960s; the site arrived by accident, when fire destroyed the bottling hall of the Bitburger brewery in the centre of town in the late 1990s. What went up in its place, to a design by Franz Heinz, opened on 3 October 2009 and put the hall, the brewery's visitor world and the tourist office under one roof at Römermauer 4. Rhineland-Palatinate treated the public-private arrangement as a model and helped pay for it. The town runs the hall itself.
