Биография
His works for children include the symphonic tale Little Red Riding Hood of 1968, to a text by Ivan Teofilov, and the two musicals The Merry Town Musicians and The Wolf and the Seven Kids. Born in Sofia in 1933, son of Pancho Vladigerov, he graduated from the Bulgarian State Conservatoire in 1956 — conducting with Vladi Simeonov, piano and composition with his father — and also studied for two years with Natan Rakhlin in Kyiv. From 1958 he conducted the Pleven, Plovdiv and Rousse philharmonics, and from 1969 until his death in 1993 the Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra, guesting across Europe and in Japan and Cuba. He recorded his father's stage and symphonic works. His own catalogue includes the Romantic Poem for cello and piano, the Dilmano, Dilbero variations of 1954 and the Rondo concertante for violin and orchestra of 1955. The prizes for his piano works came at composition competitions in Warsaw, Moscow and Bolzano. The catalogue also holds the Romanian Dance of 1960, a Toccata of 1955 and eight pieces for wind ensemble of 1970. His father had marked his birth with the piano miniatures Shumen, named after the town and dedicated to him.
