Claudia Araceli-Quiroz sang Juliette's waltz, Je veux vivre, from Gounod's Roméo et Juliette in the open-air gala at Burg Abenberg on 23 June 2013, in a programme that set opera beside operetta and orchestral showpieces. A Mexican soprano, she studied singing at UNAM in Mexico City with Rufino Montero and Enrique Jaso and privately with Maritza Alemán. Her European appearances began at the Chiemgau opera festival at Gut Immling in 2009, followed by Carmina Burana with the Plovdiv Philharmonic in Rothenburg ob der Tauber in 2010.
