Antonio Torres

Between 24 October and 1 November 2013 Antonio Torres was listed in the touring cast of Carmen for performances in Cieza, Cortegana, Huelva, Écija, Seville, Teruel, Huesca, Barbastro and Zaragoza — one of the Spanish soloists set into the Bulgarian cast for the State Opera Rousse's autumn tour, beside Belén Elvira, Carmen Serrano, Luis Santana, Sergi Carreras and Andoni Bariano. He was also listed for a Verdi Requiem in Seville on 28 October. He was born in Málaga and trained at the conservatory there, beginning in the Coro Lírico de Huelva and the Atlántida opera company, and his work has taken him to Latin America, where he sang Belcore at the Teatro Nacional Sucre in Quito in 2010. Zarzuela and the concert repertoire, Mozart's Requiem and Carmina Burana among it, stand beside opera in his work, and he directs as well, with stagings of Luisa Fernanda, The Merry Widow and La tabernera del puerto.
