Biography
Christophe Herrada trained twice over, in drama and in singing, and has kept both trades. Born at Luçon in the Vendée in 1970, he began with theatre at the Luxembourg Conservatory, later moved to Brussels and worked in Belgium. His singing studies were at the Royal Conservatory of Mons with Loretta Clini and Thierry Migliorini, with contemporary repertoire under Marianne Pousseur and early music under Guy Van Waas; two years at the Salva Voce institute in Burgundy followed, and years of work with Jorge Chaminé at the Collège d'Espagne in Paris. He prepared Don José with Teresa Berganza and Des Grieux with Leontina Vaduva. His theatre training included commedia dell'arte with Antonio Fava and Carlo Boso, acting with Yoshi Oïda and Balinese mask with Serge Poncelet. He sings, acts, directs and teaches, and toured the Netherlands and Belgium with State Opera Rousse's Carmen in the autumn of 2011, in a company that included Carla Dirlikov Canales, Sergio Foresti and Michele Filanti.
