David Arnold

Arnold scored five James Bond films between 1997 and 2008 — Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, Die Another Day, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace — coming to the series on John Barry's recommendation. Two of the title songs are his own: The World Is Not Enough, written with Don Black and recorded by Garbage in 1999, and You Know My Name, written with Chris Cornell and sung by him over the opening of Casino Royale in 2006. Born in Luton in 1962, Arnold came to film through Stargate and Independence Day, the second of which won a Grammy for best instrumental composition; the 1997 album Shaken and Stirred reworked older Bond themes with guest singers. He wrote the music for Sherlock with Michael Price, an Emmy for the episode His Last Vow among the results, and was music director for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic ceremonies.
