You Know My Name

You Know My Name was written by David Arnold and Chris Cornell for Casino Royale in 2006 and sung by Cornell, the first male voice to carry a Bond title song since 1987. The choice fitted the film's premise: Bond has not yet become Bond, and Arnold accordingly withheld the Monty Norman theme until the closing scene, so the title song had to supply the character's music instead. Unusually, it was kept off the soundtrack album and issued separately as a single in December 2006. Cornell died in 2017; the song remains his best-known work outside Soundgarden.
