Ernesto Grisales

A Colombian tenor who left for Spain at eighteen, Ernesto Grisales came from Buga, trained at the Madrid Conservatory and pursued a career in Europe; in 1994 he was announced as Alfredo in La traviata for his Colombian debut. Calaf in São Paulo, Cavaradossi in Innsbruck and Don José in Leipzig are among his engagements, and he sang Radamès at the Arena di Verona and appeared at La Fenice as Adorno in Simon Boccanegra and Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut. At the Francisco Viñas competition in 1993–94 he received the special prize of the Amics de l'Òpera de Sabadell.
