Lina Peeva

Mezzo-soprano of State Opera Burgas, Lina Peeva has sung Cherubino, Mirabella in Der Zigeunerbaron and Suzuki in Madama Butterfly there, along with a good deal of operetta and music theatre. Children's opera has been a constant strand of her work — the Queen in Atanas Kosev's Snow White, the Queen of Hearts in Alexander Yosifov's Alice in Wonderland — and she remained on the company's roster in 2026, appearing as Aunt Greta in Max and Moritz in Sozopol on 1 June. She has also worked as an assistant stage director at the house. Her work as an assistant director in Burgas has covered Leoncavallo's Pagliacci and the children's show Pif, Paf, Puf, and she restaged the company's children's adaptation of Asen Karastoyanov's operetta Bulgari ot staro vreme together with Petar Tiholov. Away from Burgas she sang Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro at State Opera Stara Zagora in October 2015, with the orchestra and chorus of the Burgas company under Andrija Pavlić, and Mercedes in the open-air Carmen mounted on the Tsarevets hill in August 2016, which drew on the orchestras, choruses and ballets of both the Stara Zagora and the Burgas companies.
