Soprano
Biography
Born in 1972 and trained in Varna — the music school, then singing lessons with Zlatka Kuncheva, then master classes with Margarita Lilova during the Varna Summer festival in the mid-1990s — Linka Stoyanova was a prizewinner at the Shore of Hope competition in Dobrich in 1999 and spent two seasons with the Stara Zagora opera and became a principal soprano in Varna. Accounts of the appointment differ: a secondary biography gives 2005, while an official interview marked twenty years as a soloist in 2022. Her repertoire includes Mimì, Cio-Cio-San, Tosca, Leonora in Il trovatore, Elisabeth in Don Carlos, Amelia in Un ballo in maschera and the title role in Aida, with Nedda and Micaëla beside them. She has appeared as a guest in Germany, Austria, Italy, France, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Norway and the United States, and with the opera houses of Sofia and Plovdiv.
