Tenor
Biography
Mickael Spadaccini was nineteen when he won the Nikolai Ghiaurov Prize before a jury chaired by Mirella Freni, and his career began there. Italian-Belgian, he studied at the Conservatoire Royal de Liège, then with Freni at the Università del Belcanto in Bologna and with Carlo Bergonzi at the Accademia Verdiana in Parma. His international debut came in 2008 in Nabucco at the Teatro Municipale di Reggio Emilia; since then he has sung more than forty leading tenor roles — Radames, Cavaradossi, Des Grieux in Manon Lescaut, Werther, Don José, Canio and the title role of Les contes d'Hoffmann — in houses across Europe and in Buenos Aires, among them Skopje, Warsaw, Vilnius, Milan, Rome, Dresden and Vienna, under conductors including Michele Mariotti, Riccardo Frizza, Antonello Allemandi and Christian Thielemann. His teacher in Liège was Nicolas Christou, and the part he sang at that Reggio Emilia debut was Ismaele, with Michele Mariotti in the pit. Turiddu and Eléazar belong to the repertoire as well.
