Biography
Sheryl Crow wrote Tomorrow Never Dies with Mitchell Froom for the 1997 Bond film, one of a number of submissions the producers weighed; David Arnold's rival setting, sung by k.d. lang, was moved to the end credits and renamed Surrender. Crow's song reached number twelve in Britain and was nominated for a Golden Globe. Born in Kennett, Missouri in 1962 to a piano teacher and a trumpet-playing lawyer, she sang backing vocals on Michael Jackson's Bad tour before Tuesday Night Music Club in 1993 produced All I Wanna Do and sold in the millions; If It Makes You Happy, Everyday Is a Winding Road and My Favorite Mistake followed. She has won nine Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2023.
