Carmina Burana — 14 July 2007 — Frankenthal · pandaimonix.de · 14.07.2007

Under the direction of Nayden Todorov, the Bulgarian Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra… In complete unison the orchestra led the way through the three parts of the work… Even those who normally enjoy classical music only in the elevator were captivated within a short time by the rousing performance, which, besides its musical perfection, also took hold of the listener visually.

An Attractive Presentation of "Nabucco" · La Voz de Galicia · 01.05.2007

…an orchestra of 53 players, a chorus of 48 voices, eight vocal soloists of good artistic level and an expert musical director combined skill and forces to offer an attractive presentation of this interesting Verdi opera… After the interpretation of the Overture, the applause rang out warmly, for Maestro Todorov offered a delicious, very balanced version in which the public appreciated the quality of the orchestra.

Singing with emotion · Hays Daily News · 15.03.2007

The stars were backed up by a paramount 62-piece symphony conducted by Nayden Todorov, principal conductor of the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra. Todorov let his arms fly with unbridled emotion and led the powerful orchestra through an impressive 2½-hour accompaniment to the production.

Wichita gives 'Turandot' good turn · The Topeka Capital-Journal · 12.03.2007

Maestro Nayden Todorov had to thread his way through a packed orchestra pit to get to the podium. The tighter you pack dynamite, the bigger the explosive force, and such was the case Saturday night with the Wichita Grand Opera's production of "Turandot"… Their voices and the orchestra supported the perception, filling the theater with Puccini's lush score.

Bucharest — City of Music: Verdi in… His Purest State! · Cronica muzicală on-line (cIMeC) · 01.02.2007

A powerful opening with Verdi's opera Stiffelio — a very little-known opus, its score lost after the 1850 premiere and rediscovered 110 years later… Just as in the European Union, we enter this operatic project 'hand in hand' with the Bulgarians: Nayden Todorov — conductor, and Kamen Chanev — tenor… The National Orchestra — very precise; the Academic Choir — impeccable… A very successful subscription concert.

A Find in Our Musical Life · Dnevnik.bg · 20.12.2006

All of this took place under the baton of another find in our musical life, this time in the conductor's field — Nayden Todorov — and with the participation of the orchestra of the Opera-Philharmonic Society, Ruse.

Darina Takova — Brilliant in "La traviata"! · Duma · 19.06.2006

But then Nayden Todorov arrived — director of the opera as of this season — and the change was felt immediately. With his bold, modern thinking, with resolve and deliberation, he undoubtedly wants to get the exhausted, bloodless theatre back on its feet… At the end of his first season, Nayden Todorov, together with the chorus and orchestra of the Ruse Opera, paraded through Sofia with confidence and success… The performance undoubtedly delighted the full Hall 1, with Nayden Todorov and the people of Ruse proving worthy partners to the remarkable Darina Takova… The orchestra played at a high level.

Richly Staged and Leanly Played · Der Landbote · 06.04.2006

Part of the strong musical impression left by the guest performance… is the contribution of the orchestra… Beautiful, for example, the horns; beautiful altogether the softness, lightness and precision of the playing; and outstanding the conducting of Nayden Todorov in the clarity of the transitions, in the disposition of tempo and dynamics, in the momentum of the whole.

A Memorable Performance · Utro · 02.2006

The Ruse Opera-Philharmonic Society has recently acquired a new head — the conductor Nayden Todorov — and his new policy can already be felt: the number of events before the public has begun to grow and to diversify, and the performers are among the very best of the moment.

The "Crystal Lyre" Awards — Conductor's Prize for Nayden Todorov · Radio Balgaria (ruska redaktsia) · 11.11.2005

It was hardly a surprise to anyone that the prize in the "Conductors" category went to the young but exceptionally talented Bulgarian maestro Nayden Todorov. The Bulgarian musical public received with great pleasure the series of Sofia Philharmonic concerts under his direction, at which such works were heard as Gustav Mahler's Symphony No. 2, Gershwin's Cuban Overture and Webber's "Requiem", presented for the first time in Bulgaria.

Committed Singers at a High Level · Solothurner Tagblatt · 12.07.2005

It is not only the devil (Svetozar Rangelov) who seduces Solothurn's "Faust" audience, but once again the young conductor Nayden Todorov. Already two years ago "Faust" under his baton became a sensational success, and last summer "Andrea Chénier". Nayden Todorov shades the "Faust" colouring of the score, dabbing with a fine brush high points of supple sonic sensuality and deeply soulful melody. The Bulgarian breathes with the singers, overlooks nothing, overstretches and prettifies nothing. A musician through and through, who fascinates acoustically and visually with round, flowing movements.
