He was born on 12 March 1979 in Varna and left the Konstantin Preslavski humanities gymnasium there in May 1997. At the Pancho Vladigerov State Academy of Music in Sofia he studied in the class of Professor Blagovesta Karnobatlova, taking a bachelor's degree in 2003 and a master's in 2004, and he has been a laureate of national opera competitions. The trio he sings in was formed in 2010 on Kiril Iliev's initiative.
