The Grown-Up Child Prodigy Sarah Chang Electrified Bulgaria Hall · Blits · 11.02.2018

I had never before seen Maestro Nayden Todorov so exhilarated and so alive at the conductor's desk; at moments he was positively dancing. A mood that carried over to the smiling players and to the grateful audience. A temperamental conductor, under whose skilled baton the orchestra played not only with inspiration — he himself was genuinely having fun.

The Dream of a Peaceful Life Is Over · Schwarzwälder-Bote · 03.08.2015

…the 50-strong orchestra under the direction of star conductor Nayden Todorov must, alongside the ominous underlying mood of the love tragedy, accompany in constant alternation highly emotional elements such as love, passion and violence. … After nearly ten minutes of ovations, a grateful audience set off for home.

In Search of a Time Believed Lost · Opernwelt · 05.2015

Highly motivated, with emphatic verve and the courage of desperation, the orchestra plunges into the floods of the 'Katerina' tragedy. What emerges from the pit — steered cleverly and with sure instinct by the man of the house at the podium — has stature. Balance and proportions are right; the playing is so colourful, so rich in contrast and so eloquent that the reduced forces hardly matter. The musicians carry 'their' singers on their hands, giving them the security and freedom they need to surpass themselves.

With unceasing ovations the audience showered the Rousse Philharmonic Orchestra, which under the baton of Nayden Todorov closed the 'March Music Days' international festival on Sunday evening… Brahms and Stravinsky crowned the 55th edition of one of Bulgaria's most authoritative festivals… The conductor Nayden Todorov turned to the audience with the words: 'Thank you! But thank most of all the Rousse Philharmonic, which keeps proving itself although in theory it does not exist!'

Watching the production by Vera Nemirova under the baton of Maestro Nayden Todorov, we had no sense whatsoever of the conventionality of operatic art… we experienced genuine, full-blooded music theatre. We believed in it, we were captivated by it! … After 'The Nose', with Vera Nemirova's 'Katerina Izmailova' Maestro Nayden Todorov is likewise building a new European profile for the Rousse Opera.

The Return of "Katerina Izmailova" to the Bulgarian Stage · Muzikalni horizonti · 2015

In Nayden Todorov's hands the complex score comes alive in all its multi-layeredness and dramaturgical contrasts. The performance showed his serious, thorough work with the entire company. The orchestra responded with great precision and detail to the conductor's demands and was equally convincing in the massive dynamic climaxes and in the chamber-psychological moments… The Rousse Opera once again proved its ability to overcome the obstacles posed by difficult titles that would challenge opera houses with far greater resources.
