One of Us

One of Us was the first single from The Visitors, released in December 1981, and it was the last ABBA single to reach number one anywhere; it did so in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. Both couples in the group had by then separated, and Bjorn Ulvaeus's lyric about the one who has to move out was read at the time as documentary. Agnetha Faltskog sings the lead. The recording sets a steel-drum-like synthesiser figure against an arrangement noticeably colder than the group's earlier work.
