ABBA

Formed in Stockholm in 1972, ABBA was a quartet — Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad — whose international career began with Waterloo, winner of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974. Dancing Queen, Mamma Mia, Fernando and The Winner Takes It All passed into the international standard repertory, and the stage musical Mamma Mia! and its film adaptations gave the catalogue a second life. The four released their first single, People Need Love, in 1972. After decades without new material they released Voyage in November 2021, and in May 2022 the ABBA Voyage production opened in London, where digital figures of the performers appeared with a live band.
