Thank You for the Music

Thank You for the Music was written in 1977 for The Girl with the Golden Hair, a mini-musical ABBA performed in the second half of their concerts that year, where it was sung in character by a young woman leaving home to become a singer. It was recorded for ABBA: The Album and released as a single only in 1983, after the group had stopped working. It has since become the piece most often used to close tribute concerts and memorial events involving their music.
