Take a Chance on Me

Take a Chance on Me grew out of a rhythmic figure Bjorn Ulvaeus hummed while jogging, the chattering take-a-chance vocal that runs under the verses. It was recorded for ABBA: The Album in 1977 and released as a single the following year, reaching number one in Britain and number three in the United States, the group's second-highest American placing. The layered background voices were built up by overdubbing the two women many times over. It closed the group's concerts on their 1979 tour.
