Uomini soli

Uomini soli won the Sanremo Festival in 1990, sung by Pooh, with music by the group's keyboard player Roby Facchinetti and words by Valerio Negrini, their former drummer and long-standing lyricist. It was the band's first Sanremo victory after more than twenty years of recording, and it gave its title to the album released the same year. The lyric is a catalogue of solitary men — in offices, in churches, in taxis — and the arrangement moves from a plain piano opening to a full refrain carried by the group's four voices.
