Nayden Todorov

“Maestro Todorov is an extremely sensitive and profound musician with strong musical ideas. He is at the same time excellent with soloists… I strongly feel, Maestro is a great asset to cultural life in Bulgaria, as well as he is loved by all musicians of his Orchestra, which he has brought to international standards.”

Prof. Maxim Vengerov · violinist, UNICEF Ambassador · 2022

The prominent and today leading Bulgarian conductor. His outstanding talent led one to expect a great career at the head of an orchestra, and that career soon brought him extraordinary successes, both internationally and in his own country. He is a significant musician and artist.

DDr. h. c. Michael Frischenschlager · Rector emeritus, University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna; President of the International Fritz Kreisler Competition · 2018

One of the most significant conductors I have met. He has rendered special services to Austrian art and culture, and has consistently championed Austrian music abroad.

Prof. Dr. h.c. Paul Badura-Skoda · pianist · 2018

Endowed with great talent and a formidable musical instinct. He has grown professionally a very great deal: he has broadened his repertoire, deepened his interpretation, and technically his gesture has become clear and essential.

Raina Kabaivanska · opera singer · 2007

I understood at once that I was meeting a different kind of conductor — one who works differently and thinks differently, and what is ripening in him can fairly be called interpretative artistry of a high order. A personality as vivid as his cannot but bring forth new fruit in the very notion of conducting.

Prof. Alexander Raichev · composer, Rector of the Bulgarian State Conservatory · 2001

Professional, authentic talent, great artistic and musical capacity.

Ghena Dimitrova, soprano; Nicola Ghiuselev, bass · opera singers · 2001

A young conductor, aware of the responsibility of a leader and possessing the drive and energy of a new generation, he proves through his numerous appearances and studio recordings the many-sided nature of this profession. His successes before the public are the result of vivid artistry and profound knowledge. His creative work is not merely a promise but a real precondition for a very successful international career.

Prof. Viktor Chuchkov · pianist and pedagogue, Sofia · 2000

A very pronounced musical personality and a particularly committed collaborator. He possesses a sure feeling for the compositional characteristics of a score and for their realisation in sound — in the chamber-music field as well as the symphonic. There is for me no doubt that this is a significant conducting talent.

Stephan Möller · Vertragslehrer, Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien · 1996

One of the very few spontaneously emerging conducting talents I have come across. Gifted with absolute pitch and a precise inner conception of the score, he has already given proof of his assured bearing in front of the orchestra.

Prof. Peter Richter de Rangenier · conductor, former Generalmusikdirektor · 1995

I have come to know him as an excellent musician and as a diligent, decent and dear person.

O.HProf. Iván Erőd · composer and pianist, Vienna · 1994

His conducting technique in particular is clear, expressive and full of temperament. I can emphatically recommend Mr Todorov to anyone.
